Arguments “FOR”:

– Milk contains many useful substances: enzymes, proteins, vitamins (A, D, E, K, C, B1, B2), minerals (calcium, potassium, sodium, magnesium, etc.), amino acids, etc.

– All these substances are irreplaceable: they are involved in the formation of immunity and hormonal background, affect the condition of the animal’s coat and skin.

– Most cats like the taste of milk, they perceive it as a treat. And some even drink it exclusively, refusing water.

Arguments ” AGAINST»:

– In the wild nature, cat is perfectly feel good without milk.

– Lactase (an enzyme that breaks down milk sugar) is produced in kittens up to about 10 months. As the animal ages, the lactase becomes less and less, and it develops milk intolerance. This manifests itself as diarrhea, bloating, increased gas formation.

– The Cow’s milk protein can cause allergies. Itching, eczema, hair loss-this is not the whole range of unpleasant consequences.

– Milk is high in calories, so some animals, especially those that are sterilized, can easily gain excess weight.

However, all organisms are different, and if your cat does not have negative consequences, you can safely pamper your pet with milk. Perhaps, in her body, the enzyme lactase is produced in sufficient quantities, and the pet receives only useful substances from milk. If the cat is intolerant to milk, try to give it fresh dairy products without sugar and flavorings: cottage cheese, yogurt, kefir.
