Carbohydrates

The easier the cereal is digested, the quicker the cat produces energy from the food. But his hunger also return sooner because the intestines are emptied quicker.  To maintain a consistent level of energy, a combination of various carbohydrate ratings is necessary. Thus, REAL Cat Food contains both whole wheat, whole barley, rice and whole maize.

Dietary Fibre

There are two types of fibres: Soluble and insoluble. They differ significantly in their ability to bind water in the digestive system. The intestines are kept healthy through regular movements, a stable bacteria flora and normal defecation. It is important that the food contains a balance of both soluble and insoluble fibres.

The soluble fibre are divided into two groups: Beta-glucan and pectin. Pectin is found mainly in roots and citrus, while beta-glucan is found in corn products.

Insoluble fibres are divided into three groups: Cellulose, hemicelluloses and lignin. Unlike soluble fibre, insoluble fibre increases food passage speed in the intestinal tract due to increased mechanical impact on the intestinal wall and a greater density in the colon.

Feeding guideline

The quantities are only intended as a guide. Remember your kitten should have fresh drinking water available at all times.

How to feed your kitten

We recommend that your kitten is introduced to REAL Kitten Food at the age of three weeks. We suggest doing this by placing the soaked REAL Kitten  Food on a tray. The kitten will then run around in the food and naturally start biting and gradually eating it.

When the kitten is no longer being nursed, REAL Kitten Food can be served either dry or soaked in water depending on the kitten’s preference. Remember to let the food cool down before giving it to your pet. Kittens should be fed 3-5 times a day. The younger they are, the more often they should be fed.

We recommend feeding REAL Kitten Food until the age of six months. The transfer from REAL Kitten Food to REAL Cat Food, Indoor or REAL Cat Food, Outdoor should happen gradually during a month’s time. It is best achieved by mixing the two products together.

The pregnant female should also be feed REAL Kitten Food from the first day of pregnancy until the day the kittens stop nursing.
